richland county councilman known for making laws is accused of breaking them again. >> councilman kelvin washington facing a felony d.u.i. charge after a south carolina highway patrolman says he rear ended another car saturday night. authorities say it happened along bluff road and martin luther king boulevard. the driver was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. the passenger with minor injuries. washington bonded out of jail last night but this is not his first run-in with the law. last month, the 51-year-old was arrested for not paying his taxes for three years. he was ordered to pay a fine andnd sentenced to probation. richland county council chairman rush released this statement writing in part "our collective responsibility to the public is compromised when such an event like this occurs. in the coming days, we will continue to monitor the situation and rely on the law enforcement agencies investigating this matter." an officer is expected to recover after being shot while on duty.

jones gap state park. he used leaves to stay warm until he was found by a family out hiking about 18 hours later. luckily, the only thing you'll need to keep you warm today is that sun. you see it behind us as we get ready for unseasonably warm starts for the work week. >> that's right. let's turn things over to jonathan kennedy for the first forecast. hey, jonathan. >> good afternoon, guys. yeah, beautiful start to the work week. we saw lots of sunshine from the get go this morning. temperatures were mild as you're waking up and heading out. and certainly, nice and warm this afternoon. we're already nearing 70 degrees. 69 downtown. lots of sunshine and nice breeze out of the southwest. winds have been a little breezy at times. around 10 to 15 miles an hour. all and all, nice, warm push of air coming in from the southwest is going to make for a beautiful afternoon. don't have to worry about any cloud cover today. that's been pretty much nonexistent throughout the day today. i think that will be the case all the way through tonight as well so look for more sunshine. nobody in the 70's just yet.

69 downtown. 68 in lexington. camden at 68 and even the coolest spots in the mid 60's as of right now. so we're already above normal for this time of year. winds continue to blow out of the southwest. i think it's going to be a beautiful afternoon. how long this nice weather sticks around, though, coming up in the full forecast. >> thank you, jonathan. turning our attention now to vote 2016. no surprises here in south carolina. as expected, hillary clinton won saturday's democratic primary. the former first lady garnered 73% of the vote to bernie's 26%. well, it's not the outcome that sander was hoping for. speaking on abc's "this week" sanders admits he was decimated here in south carolina but is trying to stay positive about saturday's vote. >>mong older african-americans, it was pathetic from our perspective but by the way, what was the glimmer of positive news for us is that we won the 29 years of age or younger vote.

african-american young people as well as white young people. >> well, sanders may need that positivity going into tomorrow's super tuesday vote. >> yeah, according to a new nbc news/"wall street journal" poll, hillary clinton is far ahead of bernie sanders in three key states voting tomorrow and shows clinton leading by 2-1 margins in texas, georgia and tennessee and those three are among 11 states holding their democratic presidential races this tuesday. for democrats, there are 1,033 delegates up for grabs in those states. plus american samoa and from democrats abroad. texas, georgia and colorado are key states for the democrats. meanwhile, there are 594 delegates in play for the republicans. key states for the g.o.p. include texas, georgia and tennessee. stay with abc columbia to bring you the very latest on vote 2016 on air and on line. >> well, it is a slew of states heading to the polls for super tuesday with 13 contests taking place tomorr.

trump has received his first endorsement from a sitting u.s. senator. alabama senator jeff sessions is throwing his support behind the billionaire businessman. sessions said that in a rally in madison, that american people want change. the senator is known for his opposition to illegal immigration. and his endorsement can solidify trump as the toughest candidate on the issue. instead of support, trump's competition, though, appears to be more interested in throwing jabs. republicans marco rubio and ted cruz are blasting trump for not rejecting support from k.k.k. grand dragon david duke and other white supremacists. rubio also using trump's signature phrase against him. >> he now says, well, first of all, he says that i'm sweating all the time. it's hot in here. am i sweating now? no. all right. he doesn't swswt. he doesn't sweat because his

worry about otherwise. we are expecting temperatures to climb into the 70's here very, very shortly. 69 degrees right now. lots of sun. winds out of the west and southwest at 14 miles per hour. and dew points right now at 45. that w wl be a key player in the forecast later on tonight. more moisture in the air, we were talking during the break about humidity does have effect on what we're seeing. it's dry enough to allow us to heat up. it won't be super dry so we cool off and plummet when the sun goes down tonight. sunshine and clear skies throughout the day today and tonight. bishopville at 70 degrees. everybody else still playing catch up 67 to 68. 69 for most everybody else. shaping up to be a beautiful afternoon. even if we stop the heating process, we'd see temperatures well above normal. most of us, normal high is around 62 or 63 and we're already nearing 70 and we'll be well on our way to near 70's before all is said and done this afternoon. we'll see winds upwards of 10 to

gusts upwards of 20 miles an hour this afternoon. a littlereezy at times. rtainly nothing compared to what we were seeing last week when the gusts were upwards of 40 miles an hour especially wednesday and thursday. satellite and radar as you zoom out a little bit, nothing happening at all. stick with the clear skies through today. but tomorrow, we'll start to add in a little more moisture into the forecast. watching that system that's kind of coming in out of the upper midwest. it's going to combine with the system down towards texas and that's going to activate some of that gulf moisture. and that's going to give us a good chance of seeing some rain as we get most likely for us late tuesday night into wednesday. if you notice pattern here, we're looking at about 9:00, 10:00 tuesday night at the end of that loop and the rain looks like it's now starting to get into the midlands. we're looking at late, late tuesday night not going to affect any of your plans because most of you aren't out around midnight tuesday night. but we're not going to feel tomorrow the effect of it into wednesday. not expected to be a big weather maker.

there will be a lot of warm air and humid air ahead of it. we'll let you know what we can expect out of that system. no sign of any rain or storms today. sunshine, blue skies and nice warm weather. if you can get out and enjoy it, i would highly suggest it but it is monday. we're back to work. hopefully we can squeeze out a little bit of time. that sunset after 6:00 today. a little time as we get off around 5:00. 64 on wednesday as the rain moves in. that will keep us cool by the end of the work week. >> like the sound of that. >> walk into the parking deck. >> we won't have to wait until 5:00 weather isn't the only thing that has flying us high this afternoon. >> not at all.

sails. >> welcome back. it's a true life story of a british skier who took the world by storm. >> movie reviewer matt perron explains how one jump turned an olympic phenomenon into an eagle. >> welcome to another monday. i hope everyone enjoyed the academy awards but we're back to the monday musings. so having reviewed all the best picture nominees every day for the past week and a half, i wawaed to see a movie withh as little substance as possible. so i was all set to go see "gods of egypt" but i went home to visit my parents this weekend and my mom wanted to go to the movies with me. i had to make a couple of quick adjustments.

the inspired by a true story ski jumping film "eddie the eagle." our movie begins with a young eddie edwards stuck in a leg brace as a child, he dreams of being an olympian. as he ages, he tries his hand at all possible events that exists at the games but as his father often points out, he is not an athlete. finally, d dcovering skiing, eddie is good enough to get a shot at being qualified but the british olympic committee doesn't like his character. finding a loophole in the rules, eddie realizes that he can qualify as a ski jumper as long as he can learn how to do it which he sets out to do immediately. lacking in skill but unable to be deterred, e eie continues to punish his body trying to self-teach himself how to jump. he catches the attention of a fallen ski jumper who warns him away from the sport. he pesters him to coach him and finally gets him to relent after seeing eddie will indeed kill himself by continuing to try with no guidance. their training begins with him doing his best to teach eddie technique and mainly the ability to land. after finally landing a

olympic committee changes the rules again to keepddie from participating. with a small window left, they set off on the european circuit to try to manage one qualifying jump. just in time, eddie is able to qualify for the calgary olympics in 1988. he realizes that he stands no chance but his moment has finally arrived. he wins the heart of the crowd but feels unsatisfied that everyone looks at him like he's a joke that doesn't belong. the story turns to not just the quest for a gold but also a need to prove everyone wrong. redemption for him becomes a major motivator along with learning the true meaning of inspiration. with breathtaking shots and heart felt comedy, we get to see one man attempt to make his dreams come true against all adversity and all the while, discovering a couple new dreams along the way. so like i said, this isn't the story that i planned on seeing. but sometimes things just work out for the best. it's truly a feel good sorry that will have you holding your breath several times along the way.

so completely able to transform into this character. and it's a nice change seeing hugh jackman in a laid back humorous type of role. if you're looking for inspiration, this is definitely one to check out. i hesitate to even say this because as soon as someone tells you not to do something, you want to go do it. do not do your research on the film first. the movie definitely takes some liberties with the story and just turns it into the story that we all want to see. there's a reason that it says "inspired by true events" and not "this is a true story." i was feeling all good after i saw it and then i just had to go to google and get some of the wind sucked out of my sails. this is fair warning. sometimes ignorance is indeed bliss. the movie itself is definitely one that will give you the warm fuzzies and i think you'd be hard pressed to find someone who doesn't like it. well, this has been your return to the monday movie museings. back to you.
